YOUR FUTURE TEAM As part of TCEQ Compliance and Enforcement, you would help ensure that those we regulate comply with the states environmental laws. See details about what we do. This position is a member of our Monitoring Division. KEY QUALIFICATIONS Experience managing or overseeing a chemical, environmental, or calibration laboratory. Experience supervising or assisting with the supervision of staff (ex. development of team goals, staff professional development, participating in hiring process, preparing/drafting Functional Job Descriptions and performance plans, conducting performance reviews, etc.). Experience using the principles and techniques of chemistry, physical chemistry (thermodynamics), physics, and/or statistical analysis as they relate to the proper operation of analytical or environmental instrumentation/equipment, analytical and calibration procedures, and protocols for analysis. Experience with laboratory/equipment method development procedures. Bachelor's degree in chemistry, physics, environmental science. or related subject from an accredited college or university. HERES WHAT YOULL BE DOING... Plan, oversee, and coordinate team activities; advise management of significant team issues. Provide and/or oversee the analytical method development and technical direction for the Calibration Laboratory; ensure laboratory throughput and data quality deliverables are met; oversee the quality assurance/quality control for the laboratory and air network monitoring audit operations and procedures. Perform human resource management functions to include the development and maintenance of employee functional job descriptions, performance management plans, and employee performance reviews; participate in hiring team members; and ensure staff development and completion of core training requirements. Assist in the development, monitoring, and tracking of the Sections budget. Advise and provide feedback to the Data Management Section Manager regarding team needs and/or issues. Qualifications: EDUCATION EXPERIENCE Experience in the administration of a program relevant to assignment. OR Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in a field relevant to assignment.
