This position is required to work onsite five days per week (Monday - Friday) at TxDMV headquarters located in Austin, TX. GENERAL DESCRIPTION Our mission at the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) is to serve, protect and advance the citizens and industries in the state with quality motor vehicle related services. We are a dynamic state agency dedicated to customer service, consumer protection and the success of motor vehicle-related industries. This position provides moderately complex (journey-level) technical inventory management support. Responsibilities include documenting and monitoring technology-related inventory levels, maintaining stock levels, and fulfilling equipment requests for technical support staff. The role involves implementing and following inventory management systems and procedures, ensuring timely service delivery. Works under general supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Follows and maintains program policies, procedures, standards, and manuals in alignment with program objectives and goals. Collects and organizes materials in response to program information and reporting requests. Provides inventory service delivery to technical staff, fulfilling equipment requests accurately and efficiently. Monitors inventory needs, forecasts supply demands, and maintains stock availability. Receives, unloads, documents, and stores shipments of new equipment and supplies. Processes incoming technical equipment for storage or disposal through surplus. Maintains detailed and accurate inventory records to support staff needs and program requirements. Collaborates with technical inventory staff to develop and integrate new or revised inventory management methods and procedures. Assists in the preparation and documentation of reports to monitor program performance. Required to attend work regularly and adhere to approved work hours in compliance with department policies and procedures. May travel up to 5% of the time. Travels by car (may include flying). May include overnight travel. May require working extended hours and some evenings and weekends, as needed. SCHEDULE AND LOCATIONPosition will be based on-site at 4000 Jackson Ave., Austin, Texas.Work schedule: 8:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M., M nday through Friday. May require non-standard or on-call hours during emergencies. Qualifications: MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSEducation and ExperienceGraduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent plus at least four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in computer systems or inventory control activities. (Experience requirements may be satisfied by full-time experience or the prorated part-time equivalent. PREFERRED REQUIREMENTSA degree in computer science, information technology, or logistics is preferred.
