Actalent Component Engineer in Avenel, New Jersey

Job Title: Component EngineerJob Description

We are seeking a Component Engineer to provide technical direction in the selection of primary and alternate components for new and existing designs. The successful candidate will lead the management and execution of the Component Obsolescence Management Plan (OMP), support customer SDRLs for diminishing manufacturing sources and material shortages reporting, and collaborate with Purchasing/Production teams to maintain awareness of component availability and end-of-life status. This role involves selecting component alternates to address lead time and availability challenges, maintaining part catalog technical data, working with manufacturers on failure investigations, coordinating testing for alternate components, generating Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), and reviewing new technologies for improved reliability.

Job Type

This is a permanent position.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Avenel, New Jersey.

Work Environment

The role is based onsite with a team of about 200 people in NJ, addressing issues primarily related to Electrical Engineering (95%) and Mechanical Engineering (5%). This position offers the opportunity to work across all business sectors.
