Position Purpose:The Senior Loan Officer is responsible for implementing and executing a disciplined sales and client service process to develop new, and expand current, commercial banking relationships.
Job Requirements: Education:A 4-year college degree in Business or related field normally required. Experience:A minimum of five to seven (5-7) years of Commercial Lending experience preferred. Skills:Professional verbal and written communication skills; ability to type at least 30 wpm; proficiency with Microsoft Office software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; fluent communication in the English language; ability to travel frequently to client and various bank locations as needed.

General Expectations Develop and expand both current and new commercial banking relationships. Maintain existing client relationships by providing ongoing effective and clear guidance to each client in the lenders portfolio. Identify commercial banking prospects and pursue converting prospects into new clients. Maintain calling records for prospects. Meet or exceed scorecard goals for new loan production, net loan growth, and other deliverables. Obtain necessary information to assess client needs and financial and business information for use in credit analysis. Provide an initial assessment of credit risk. Monitor existing loan portfolio to ensure the risk grade remains accurate and that loans conform to terms and policy, updating the risk grade as needed. Provide action recommendations for resolving marginally performing or delinquent loans. Be aware of external market or economic factors influencing a customers performance and ability to repay. Coordinate renewals and client contact with loan assistant. Assist with credit presentations. Practice an exceptional standard of client service/hospitality. Master a client first approach and encourage it in colleagues. Create an observably positive experience for clients. Regularly make in-person client visits, both individually and in partnership with Market Development Officers, Treasury Management Officer, and colleagues in other business lines, to increase relationships and gain new business. Maintain a strong, visible presence in the community by participating in community events and organizations. Maintain awareness of what is required to achieve and maintain profitability for the bank Possess expert knowledge of all CSB products and services, including Retail, Small Business, Mortgage, Commercial, and Treasury Management products and services. Exhibit a strong commitment to accuracy and attention to detail all job areas. Demonstrate the strong communication skills and practices necessary for interactions with clients, senior management, and colleagues. Watch for signs of fraudulent activity in o der to protect the bank and clients. Process commercial loan requests. Provide in-depth financial consultations to clients to determine which product(s) best meet their needs and provide regular referrals to other business lines when appropriate.
