Cleveland Clinic Speech Language Pathologist - Inpatient - Acute - PRN in Avon, Ohio

As a PRN Speech Language Pathologist, you will evaluate and treat patients with injuries or diseases which result in loss or impairment of speech, language, voice, cognitive and/or swallowing function. Our Avon Hospital Inpatient Hospital Therapy Team where we treat medically complex patients in a dynamic acute care inpatient setting.

A caregiver in this position works variable PRN hours, days 8am-4:30pm. Weekend and Weekday availability desired.

A caregiver who excels in this role, will:

  • Perform initial and on-going assessments of patient's condition and establishes goals and plan of care.

  • Perform therapy interventions utilizing standard speech therapy techniques and skills as appropriate for the age and condition of the patient.

  • Complete documentation to comply with department, hospital, and regulatory standards.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal caregiver include:

  • Master's level degree required.

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited Speech-Language Pathology Program.

  • Current Ohio Licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.

  • Must hold or have applied for the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Pathology from American Speech-Language Hearing Association.

Preferred qualifications for the ideal caregiver include:

  • Experience in acute care and modified barium swallow study experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity to perform tasks needed for patient care and administrative tasks.

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
