Robert Half Patient Care Coordinator in Bakersfield, California

Description

Our Fortune 50 Client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Patient Care Coordinator to join their team. The Patient Care Coordinator will be responsible for efficiently registering and pre-registering patients, verifying insurance eligibility and benefits, ensuring accurate patient demographics, explaining hospital policies, financial responsibilities, and patient rights, as well as collecting co-payments and other patient liabilities. The Patient Care Coordinator brings excellent customer service skills and communication to ensure a positive patient experience.

Specific Duties:

  • Register and Pre-register patients

  • Verify Insurance eligibility, benefits, and authorizations

  • Verify patient demographics

  • Collect co-payments, co-insurance, and deductibles

    Requirements

Must-have Qualifications/Experience:

  • Typing speed of 45 wpm; 10-key by touch

  • Knowledge of insurance verification, authorizations, and billing processes for all payers including HMO, Commercial, Medicare, and Medi-Cal

  • Proficiency in computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Minimum of one year experience working in a hospital Patient Registration department, physician office setting, healthcare insurance company, revenue cycle vendor, or other revenue cycle related roles
