Robert Half Project Accountant in Ballwin, Missouri
Description We are in search of an organized and meticulous Project Accountant to join our client located in BALLWIN, Missouri. The Project Accountant primarily involves providing financial assistance and guidance to managers and leaders at various stages of a range of projects. The successful candidate will also handle accounts payable, accounts receivable, and job cost systems.
Project Accountant Responsibilities:
• Facilitate accurate and timely support to project managers, ensuring comprehensive financial management of projects.
• Generate and distribute invoices to respective project managers after obtaining necessary invoice information.
• Coordinate the preparation of required client invoice templates and handle all invoice correspondence with clients.
• Maintain an organized invoice control log and electronic filing system of all project files, including contracts, startup sheets, and project invoices.
• Set up projects in the accounting system and monitor budget and schedule changes.
• Prepare project accounting reports for project managers, including profitability reports, project forecasts, and resource needs analysis.
• Assist in the collection of aged receivable balances and respond to vendors and subcontractors' inquiries on invoice/payment status.
• Update invoice submittal or payment information in client electronic invoice tracking systems periodically.
• Provide project information for any project audit initiated by a client and for tax credit analysis for tax return preparation annually.
• Cross-train in all aspects of accounting to fill in for absent team members and to grow in responsibility and scope over time.

Requirements • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) operations
• Experience with Bank Reconciliations
• Familiarity with General Ledger maintenance and management
• Ability to create and manage Journal Entries
• Experience in Month End Close processes
• Proficiency in Billing and Job Cost procedures
• Knowledge of Deltek software for project and business management
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data management and analysis
