The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) is seeking an individual to fill the position of Administrative Officer III (Equal Employment Opportunity Administrative Coordinator) in the Office of the Statewide EEO Coordinator. The ideal candidate for this position should be a self-starter, possess great organizational skills, written and oral communication, and have the ability to multi-task and work independently and as a part of a team.

POSITION DUTIES

This position is responsible for serving as the primary on-site office contact for the Office of the Statewide EEO Coordinator to provide administrative support such as greeting customers, answering telephones, checking mail, filing, scanning, special projects, and other duties as assigned. This position coordinates training for the statewide Equal Employment Opportunity Community and assists the Senior EEO Compliance Officer and EEO Compliance Officer as needed. This position designs, develops and manages databases to track mandatory training requirements and other unit-specific data. The Administrative Officer III is responsible for collecting and analyzing statistics and state agencies EEO program information to produce the Annual Statewide Equal Employment Opportunity Report. In addition, the Administrative Officer III is responsible for producing the Managing for Results Report annually and the EEO-4 Report, a mandatory biennial data collection.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Three years of administrative staff or professional work.

Notes:

  1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to twoyears of the required experience.

  2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degreefrom a college or universityfor the required experience.

  3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that included the regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, rules or regulations or analysis of operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvement on a year-for-year basis for the requiredexperience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to applicantswho possess the following preferred qualification(s).Include clear and specific information on your application regardingyour qualifications.

  1. Proven knowledge of federal and state of Maryland Civil Rights laws.
  2. One to two years of experience working with Microsoft Excel or similar programs, designing, developing and managing multiple databases.
  3. Experience with assisting in EEO investigations and/or Human Resource related matters.
  4. One to two years experience working independently on projects.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operators license valid in the State of Maryland.
