Reporting to theSeniorAssistant Director and Coordinator for Fitness, the Group Fitness Instructor provides safe and effective exercise classes for groups at various fitness levels atURecFit. UMB is a Maryland state university.Applicants are expected toresidein or be able torelocateto the State of Maryland. QUALIFICATIONS Education: Bachelor's in related field, such as Kinesiology, Sports Medicine, Sports Management, Exercise Science, etc. Experience: Conducted a minimum of fifty (50) hours of fitness classes in specialized program. Licensure/Certification: Current ACE, ACSM, AFAA, CSCS, NASM, or comparable Group exercise certification. Training and appropriate certification related to CPR and AED required after date of hire. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills. Knowledge of safe exercise technique and group exercise principles. Ability to operate and troubleshoot audio equipment. Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork CPR & AED certified or willingness to obtain.
