Kelly Services Maintenance Mechanic Worker in Baltimore, Maryland

Kelly Services has partnered up with our client in Baltimore, Md who is looking for a skilled, reliable Maintenance Mechanic to work in their Distribution Center.

Training Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

Post Training Schedule: 4am-4pm and 4pm-4am 2-2-3 ( rotating schedule, two days on two days off, three days on)

Pay rate: $23-$32 an hour with weekly pay on Friday

Job Overview:

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for repairing and maintaining production and facility equipment, performing new equipment installations, and following established preventative maintenance programs. The ideal candidate will be a full journeyman in Machine Repair, Plant Mechanic, or Millwright, with proficiency in reading mechanical/electrical prints, pneumatic schematics, and hydraulic schematics. They should also have strong pipe fitting skills and a good attendance record.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform changeovers, answer line calls, and troubleshoot equipment issues.

  • Apply basic electrical skills to repair and maintain high-speed production equipment.

  • Practice safe work habits and follow proper lockout/tagout procedures.

  • Complete all required OSHA training and address any unsafe conditions.

  • Respond to calls from supervisors or operators to repair equipment as needed.

  • Schedule and perform preventative maintenance on equipment.

  • Participate in daily meetings and report maintenance department objectives and opportunities.

  • Install and rebuild equipment as necessary.

  • Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic devices and hydraulic systems.

  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance plans.

  • Resolve technical problems or issues independently.

  • Foster a positive and cooperative working environment.

  • Utilize basic electrical skills for maintenance tasks.

  • Manage multiple projects and prioritize competing demands.

  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts and flexibility to work days, evenings, and/or weekends.

Qualifications:

  • Full journeyman status in Machine Repair, Plant Mechanic, or Millwright.

  • Proficiency in reading mechanical/electrical prints, pneumatic schematics, and hydraulic schematics.

  • Strong pipe fitting skills for air, water, and hydraulic systems.

  • Good attendance record and commitment to safety.

  • Basic electrical knowledge and understanding of electrical controls.

  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends.
