Your Opportunity

Morrison Hershfield, now Stantec’s Buildings group provides integrated engineering solutions to institutional, industrial, residential, and commercial clients with a focus on transit, telecom, waste management, higher education, and food/beverage facilities that require reliable and cost-effective infrastructure for both new and retrofit solutions. The combined skills of our engineers, technicians, and support personnel with diverse backgrounds in design and construction provide clients with a team recognized as leaders in the field.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Participates in all phases of commissioning projects which may include a variety of complex features, including planning, scheduling, and coordination of work

  • Performs engineering design reviews, prepares commissioning scripts and reports, directs client-site testing, and manages the training of on-site staff

  • Prepares equipment pre-start-up and start-up procedures

  • Develops standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Methods of Procedures (MOPs); Comprehensive Commissioning documentation

  • Prepares commissioning test procedures and reports

  • Develops and maintain commissioning logs, equipment checklists, and other tools to track commissioning projects

  • Prepares comprehensive reports; recommendations for optimizing building operations, functional checklists, list of deficiencies, equipment operation and maintenance manuals

  • Reviews design criteria, specifications, drawings, equipment submittal, and other documentation pertinent to commissioning

  • Participates in commissioning activity meetings

  • Interfaces with construction contractors, vendors, and testing technicians

  • Conducts tests and compiles all testing procedure results

  • Integrates system testing; Load Bank Testing; and Compilation of all testing procedure results

  • Develops and administers functional tests for various building MEP systems, such as HVAC air and water distribution systems, air handling units, pumps, cooling towers, chillers, boilers, UPS, Generator, Switchgear Power Distribution Units

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Interest in working both in the office and the field environment

  • Experience in project management

  • Ability to perform outdoor physical duties while doing bridge inspection work

  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle

  • Strong computer skills, including experience with SAP2000, CSiBridge, SFRAME

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills

  • Able to work in a team environment and excel in both bridge and multi-disciplined projects

  • Proven ability to supervise, direct, and mentor staff

  • Demonstrated interest in business development activities and preparation of proposals

  • Organized and detail-oriented

  • Ability to direct a team and mentor the technical development of others

  • Works well with minimal direct supervision

Education and Experience

B.ASc. or B.Eng. in civil/structural engineering, with strong interest and experience in bridge engineering

P.Eng. and 10 years' experience in leading large transportation structures projects

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Pay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s):

Salary Range(s):

  • 88300 - 128000 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in CO and HI and MD

  • 88300 - 128000 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in WA and DC

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
