CareFirst Principal Business Architect - Health Plan Operations (Hybrid) in Baltimore, Maryland

PURPOSE:

Drives enterprise optimization by introducing capabilities (inclusive of all functions) for their domain of responsibility utilizing in-depth knowledge and expert skills to advance domain strategies. Translates business needs for the domain into architectural solutions that meet performance, reliability and security expectations. Applies enterprise roadmaps, principles, standards, and practices to drive their domain strategies and execution.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for leading the transformation of a business and ensuring critical deliverables, such as business capability models, business capabilities, and platforms, are developed and implemented.

  • This individual interprets and develops the strategy for the operational needs of an organization and designs an effective platform (https://www.simplilearn.com/it-architect-article) strategy for business process management. They develop business capability maps and value streams to link strategy and execution and helps reorganize and restructure the business enablement process.

  • To develop or contribute to key deliverables like strategy summary, operating and business model analysis, business entities, organization mapping, systems mapping, system footprint analysis, etc.

  • To plan and design a business architecture strategy based on carefully scrutinizing various business scenarios and motivations

  • To illustrate the main business functions of the health plan operations and to identify functions that are member-facing or provider-related or pertaining to business execution and business management.

  • To identify strategic business goals that can be traced through the organization and be mapped for ongoing governance

  • To describe strategic, core and support processes that stretch beyond functional and organizational boundaries

  • To define external entities like members, providers, and external vendors related to the health plan ecosystem

  • To describe the workforce, resources and controls engaged in the processes

  • Business architect responsibilities also include defining data shared across the business and their interrelation

Education Level: Bachelor's Degree. In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.

Experience: 10 years' Experience

  • Ability to motivate and influence others so that project objectives are met in a timely manner.

  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders to develop high quality solutions.

  • Ability to coach, delegate, and develop architects and engineers.

  • Ability to managing cross-domain architecture solutions and issues.

  • Expertise with domain related architecture frameworks, methods and tools.

  • Effective organizational, interpersonal/relationship management, analytical, communications (written and verbal) and collaboration.

  • Must be able to meet established deadlines and handle multiple customer service demands from internal and external customers, within set expectations for service excellence. Must be able to effectively communicate and provide positive customer service to every internal and external customer, including customers who may be demanding or otherwise challenging.

Salary Range: $150,000 - $268,125

This compensation range is specific and considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilites of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, internal peer equity, and market and business consideration. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of the range, as compensation decisions depend on each case's facts and circumstances, including but not limited to experience, internal equity, and location.
