Johns Hopkins University Research Data Assistant in Baltimore, Maryland

We are seeking a Research Data Assistant will support the Neonatal Precision Medicine Centers of Excellence (PMCOE) research team in the management, analysis and reporting of complex data for the benefit of maternal, fetal neonatal and child health research. The Research Assistant will work closely with other team members to assist in the preparation of reports, publications and presentations under the supervision of the PMCOE PIs and in collaboration with other study team members.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform constructions of datasets, variables & data cleaning.

  • Assist with production of tables and graphs in publication-quality form, & present results to study team members.

  • Provide preliminary and interim analyses of data; additionally, perform statistical calculations and under the guidance of senior investigators and to assist with preparation of reports, scientific abstracts and method section of manuscripts related to projects.

  • Perform analyses on large, complex datasets, and documents analyses using STATA, R, python, etc.

  • Prepare data & analyses reports regarding the status of the database & analytical activities as well as review reports to verify data Other duties as assigned by research team members.

Special Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced project environment.

  • Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely, and work collaboratively with other project staff.

  • General knowledge of maternal – fetal – neonatal health and medical terminology.

  • Knowledge of navigation of the SAFE desktop environment using tools like cruncher, Leaf and Python.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline (ie: statistics, computer science, machine learning)

  • Basic SQL skills.

  • Three years of related experience required. Additional education (Master’s level) may substitute for some required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in statistical analysis, database management & data analysis including longitudinal analysis.

  • Knowledge of R, STATA, python.

  • MS Access, Excel, Word.

Role/Level/Range: ACRO37.5/01/CA

Starting Salary Range: $15.00 - $25.00 HRLY ($25.00 targeted; Commensurate with experience)

Employee group: Casual / On Call

Schedule: M-F; Casual role, hours will vary
