Johns Hopkins University Research Program Coordinator in Baltimore, Maryland

The International Vaccine Access Center (IVAC) at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health is seeking a Research Data Analyst to support a systematic review to identify and synthesize processes, outcomes, and impact of checking vaccination status in childcare, primary school, or secondary school settings in high-income countries. This work will complement a similar review conducted by the US CDC focused on low- and middle-income countries. The findings from this systematic review will inform recommendations and development of implementation guidance for checking vaccination status at schools as a strategy to increase immunization coverage in school-aged children.

This individual will also support an evaluation of a measles surveillance system through a quantitative mapping exercise and qualitative interviews.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

Systematic review

  • Roles will include participating in the full-text screening, data abstraction, and synthesis of findings for the final report and publication.

  • Support development of protocol and data collection tools.

  • Conduct full text review based on pre-determined inclusion / exclusion criteria.

  • Contribute to review of outcomes of interest.

  • Extract relevant data from relevant articles.

  • Support systematic review manuscript development as a co-author.

  • Support development of slides and report to funder (WHO and CDC).

  • Provide additional support as needed.

Surveillance Evaluation

  • Work closely with investigators to develop protocol and prepare study materials.

  • Project coordination.

  • Support planning for trainings and workshops.

  • Synthesis of findings from quantitative mapping and qualitative interviews.

  • Preparation of reports and dissemination materials.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.

  • Additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in related discipline (public health, epidemiology, statistics/biostatistics).

  • Experience conducting literature reviews.

  • Experience working with measles surveillance data.

  • Interest in vaccine preventable disease and vaccination policy.

  • Ability to work independently as well as in collaborative groups.

Starting Salary Range: $17.20 - $30.30 HRLY ($61,000 targeted; Commensurate with experience)
