Johns Hopkins University Research Program Coordinator in Baltimore, Maryland
We are seeking a Research Program Coordinator who provides research study coordination, facilitates project development, and contributes to successful project execution. Communicates effectively and develops rapport with research subjects and works with accuracy and attention to detail.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Attend virtual training for research coordinators conducted by the main study site (Massachusetts General Hospital)
Monthly videoconferencing with study leadership
Weekly videoconferencing with Johns Hopkins’ study team
Daily screening of inpatient leukemia census to identify patients with newly diagnosed or recurrent acute myeloid leukemia (AML) within 72 hours of chemotherapy initiation. For appropriate patients, reach out to oncology attending physician to let them know of patient's eligibility. If eligible, coordinator will lead enrollment of the patient, including informed consent (in person).
Administer patient-reported assessment at baseline and then at weeks 2, 4, 12, and 24 after enrollment.
Send weekly RedCap emails to study clinicians to remind them to complete surveys
Perform data management
Collaboration with other local research coordinators
Proactively anticipate implementation problems and work with Site PI and research team to prevent and devise solutions to problems.
Maintain on-site regulatory records.
Additional Duties & Responsibilities
Meeting minutes and distribution
Be proactive in identifying problems and devising solutions
Documents and consistently maintains detailed records and research data files.
Compile and maintain regulatory documents.
Work with local IRB, other IRBs, and investigators to obtain and maintain regulatory approvals
Track study supplies, to include equipment, study materials, drug/equipment supply as necessary
Maintain supply inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needs; verifying receipt of supplies.
Support the co-site PI’s as requested
Address participant problems and concerns
Provide back-up coverage for other staff if the need arises.
Handle and protect confidential and sensitive data with integrity.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.
Additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of research methodology for working with human subjects and of general research principles.
Experiences with substance use disorders preferred.
A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a related area and/or in research.
