About the Role

Magna is looking for Data Analyst to support their data initiatives which will modernize their environment and set them up for future opportunities in the data space and visualization space. We are looking for a passionate individual who is self-learner , has good communication skills and inclination for data visualization and BI technologies

Your Responsibilities

• Data Analysis: Collect, clean, and transform raw data from various sources into actionable insights. Apply statistical methods, data visualization techniques, and data mining to identify trends, patterns, and correlations.

• Reporting: Create informative and visually appealing reports, dashboards, and presentations that effectively communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Business Insights: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business objectives and develop analytical solutions that drive data-driven decision-making. Provide recommendations based on data analysis to optimize processes and enhance business performance. Analyzing and evaluating business processes, and through data driven insights proposing and implementing business process improvement.

• Problem Solving: Proactively identify data-related challenges and develop innovative solutions. Address data quality issues, troubleshoot discrepancies, and implement measures to ensure data accuracy and integrity. Evaluating and making decisions around dataset implementations designed and proposed by peer data engineers. Identifying business process improvements from the data level.

• Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, data analysis techniques, and tools. Share knowledge and insights with the team to foster a culture of learning and growth.

• Data Visualization: Utilize data visualization tools to create compelling charts, graphs, and interactive dashboards that effectively convey insights and support storytelling.

• Technical Expertise: Demonstrate proficiency in data manipulation using programming languages (e.g., Python, R) and SQL. Comfortably work with large datasets and apply appropriate data analysis techniques. Analyzing large amounts of data, discovering and solving real world problems, and building metrics and business cases to help business teams to make decisions.

• Collaboration: Collaborate with data engineers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless data integration, model deployment, and alignment with organizational goals. Participating in the full development life cycle, end-to-end, from design, implementation and testing, to documentation, delivery, support, and maintenance to produce comprehensive, usable dataset documentation and metadata.

• Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough validation and testing of analytical models and dataoutputs to ensure accuracy, reliability, and consistency.

Who we are looking for

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Supply Chain or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Minimum three (3) years of related experience required

  • Excellent analytical thinking for translating data into informative visuals and reports

  • Expertise in using advance level calculations on the data sets

  • In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework

  • Demonstrate the ability to document steps in a process and make technology recommendations to improve the process

  • Knowledgeable of statistical methods such as regression, probability analysis, risk analysis, statistical process control, and clustering is desired

  • Able to implement row level security on data and understand application security layer models

  • Data and business analysis background

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Strong experience with relational databases like SQL Server, MySQL, and Oracle. NoSQL databases experience is a plus

  • Experience with user-defined workflows

Your preferred qualifications

  • Problem solver that is action-oriented with the ability to look at problems in new ways.

  • Working knowledge of data management software like AWS Glue , Azure Data factory, EMR or other ETL tools a plus.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability to design an effective solution.

  • Ability to support multiple on-going projects in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong communicational skills, organizational skills, negotiation skills, and flexibility to address competing demands.

  • Ability to explain Production / technical concepts and analysis implications clearly to a wide audience and be able to translate business objectives into actionable analyses.

  • Superior business judgement – ability to flex between big picture thinking, understand and distill complex ideas, and analyze data to drive strategic objectives.

  • Power BI or Quick Sights

  • SQL

  • SSRS, SSMS

  • Data Visualization

  • Python

  • Experience in Cloud Data tools (AWS or Azure)
