About the Role
The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the successful integration and coordination of mechanical systems within engineering projects. As a Mechanical System Engineer, he/ she will play a key role in the development and implementation of mechanical system concepts and designs, while ensuring alignment with project objectives
Your Responsibilities
Evaluate technical customer and stakeholder requirements for geometrical integration topics based on section cuts, 3D PDFs and benchmark photos.
Define the mechanical system concept and architecture of products in alignment with the System Architect, product line, subsystems, and building blocks.
Set up the schematics for standard mechanic architecture for Hybrid and Electric based on e.g. section cuts, CAD data and presentations.
Allocate and break down mechanical system requirements to Sub Project (SP) and Building Block (BB) levels, considering non-functional, interface, and design topics.
Balance competing attributes to meet mechanical system requirements, such as package, interfaces, weight targets, Center of Gravity (CoG), and materials.
Assist in design reviews and meet design freeze deadlines.
Ensure the plausibility and completeness of the System Bill of Materials (BOM).
Participate in change management meetings and evaluate changes that may impact the mechanical system.
Initiate the development of mechanical serviceability concepts, standard Assembly process with future products.
Who we are looking for
Knowledge of gearboxes and electric drives.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Proficiency in CAD software and 3D modeling.
Basic knowledge of CATIA V5 Software and PLM.
Knowledge of geometrical integration principles and best practices.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Your preferred qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or mechatronics, with additional competence in basic functions of electronics, e- motor design.
Strong understanding of mechanical systems and their integration into larger projects.
