Join our Family Enrichment Team! Penquis, a social services agency serving Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Knox counties for over 50 years, is currently seeking a part time or full-time (benefits eligible) Office Coordinator. It is expected that the successful candidate will work in the office at least a portion of each day Monday through Friday. As the Office Coordinator, you will provide traditional secretarial, administrative, and office support in a computer network setting. Our department’s programs focus is on strengthening families and individuals of all ages through various contracts, grants and Mainecare billable services. This position is located at our Bangor location.

Location: Bangor, Maine

Office Coordinator Responsibilities:

  • Enjoy interacting face-to-face and on the phone with co-workers, clients and providers.

  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Be versatile in computer systems and applications such as, electronic health records, databases and spreadsheets; work well in a team environment; and adhere to strict confidentiality standards.

  • Assist Supervisor/Program Manager/Division Manager/Operations Manager/Department Director in daily operations as needed.

Office Coordinator Requirements:

  • Associates degree in secretarial science, business or other related area and two years of related work experience, or High School diploma or equivalent and four years of related work experience.

  • 3-5 years of work experience in a similar office setting, includes word processing, spread sheets and database management.

  • Previous experience as an office manager is preferred, but not required.

  • Upon hire and periodically thereafter, must comply with Penquis background check requirements with satisfactory results as outlined in current contract provisions.

The rate of pay for this position starts at $17.07 per hour, and additional compensation may be given consideration with relevant experience.
