FirstService Residential Banquet Coordinator in Banning, California

Job Overview:

The Banquet Coordinato r manages the Banquet Operations amenity.Responsible for overseeing and planning of food, beverage events as well as private parties. The exact duties vary based on the size and place of the event, but the following common duties are noted on the Banquet Coordinator Resume as core – promoting and selling the employee’s service to potential clients;describing the venue’s services (https://www.qwikresume.com/resume-samples/banquet-supervisor/), outline the services to be carried out, supervising the setup of facilities;directingflorist, caterers, and decorators; and arranging all needed items for the event.Reports to the Food and Beverage Director with significant contact with other department personnel, residents and guests.

Compensation: $23-25/hour

FirstService Residential will compensate the successful candidate in accordance with the posted range. The salary or wage paid to the successful candidate will be commensurate with experience, education, and specific job responsibilities. For positions designated at a client's property, the salary or wage will also be premised upon the client's directive. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Based on evaluation of sales, coordinates with F&B Director on potential revenue drivers including specials.
  • Price and Develop BEO’s (Banquet Event Orders) using the provided banquet menus.
  • Assists in the preparation of the schedule for the banquet staff.
  • Assists other wait staff in fulfilling the banquet service duties described above.
  • Works to ensure that all F&B banquet facilities and services meet or exceed all applicable health, sanitation and/or safety requirements.
  • Trains new banquet servers and performs follow up training to all team members within banquet department.
  • Maintains a clean and efficient workspace.
  • Maintains a professional relationship with our members and guests.
  • Discusses only positive aspects of fellow employees and working conditions when speaking to a guest.
  • Fulfills other duties as are assigned by the Food and Beverage Director.
  • Proactively generate leads and secure new business opportunities for banquet events.
  • Conduct site tours and client consultations to present the venue and services offered.
  • Develop and deliver customized proposals and contracts, ensuring alignment with client needs and preferences.
  • Negotiate event terms and pricing to finalize agreements and achieve sales targets.
  • Foster and maintain strong client relationships to enhance satisfaction and encourage repeat business.

  • Ability to respond to conflicts courteously and tactfully and provide solutions.
  • Manage time and provide bartending related services to multiple customers.
  • Effectively communicate both orally and in writing in English.
  • Valid California driver’s license, DMV printout and proof of current automobile insurance.
  • May be required to occasionally attend functions and work a flexible schedule that will include days, evening, weekends and holidays.
  • Willing to work in other (lower level) F&B positions when the need arises.

Education & Experience:

  • Must have obtained a High School diploma

  • Minimum of two years’ experience evidencing satisfactory banquet/event coordination and restaurant serving related skills.

  • Ability to obtain a Riverside County Food Handlers’ Certificate

  • Ability to obtain a CA Responsible Beverage Control (RBS) Certificate
