PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST Responsible for all purchasing requirements (services, components, and materials) for Engineering and Production Departments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensure timely, accurate procurement of parts and services Coordinate with Engineering Department to source materials and vendors Analyze the technical merits of vendor proposals, versus cost and other commercial aspects to recommend best purchase option Participate in supplier negotiations Identify opportunities to minimize costs and develop cost savings initiatives Issue purchase/work orders to vendor Maintain supplier/vendor files Maintain accurate purchasing data in accounting/ERP system Procure and manage logistics and freight Assist with coordination of customs documentation, when required Perform shipping and receiving functions Maintain appropriate minimal inventory levels Work within Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), optimize procedures and develop new SOPs as required Other projects/initiatives as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Post-secondary education Minimum 5 years of purchasing experience Proficient with excel and experience with ERP systems and other accounting-based systems

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Experience with ERP systems and inventory control processes High standards for quality and attention to detail Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities Good judgment and initiative are required to resolve problems and make recommendations Excellent internal and external communication skills
