Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC) seeks to fill the position of Adjunct Instructor - Nursing. TheAdjunct Instructor - Nursingis located in the Nursing and Allied Health. This is a part-time position. This position is open for recruitment.

Dean of Nursing

COMPENSATION:

Dates/Times - Day preferred; various times available

Salary - $50/hr

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Provide learning experiences in accordance with students' needs and abilities

  2. Notify department chair of absence with course substitution plan in a timely manner

  3. Maintain accurate grade and attendance records

  4. Submit syllabi, grades, attendance, electronic time sheets, and other reports be established deadlines

  5. Discuss with counselors and other appropriate personnel any student problems which may require special attention

  6. Use learning resources to help students learn.

  7. Engage in continual professional development activities as it relates to pedagogy, assessment, and faculty area of expertise

  8. Meet all scheduled classes within the appropriate timeframe and provide opportunities for student conferences either online, by phone, or face-to-face interactions.

  9. Attend annual orientation

  10. Adhere to professional standards of conduct

  11. Participate in the faculty evaluation process

  12. Assess student learning in accordance with college policy

Job Concepts

Looking for adjunct instructors for ASN and Practical Nursing Programs. Applicants for adjunct in ASN program must possess a master's degree in nursing. Applicants for adjunct clinical instructor for the Practical Nursing program must have at least 3 years of hospital nursing experience and at least one of these must be on a medical surgical unit. Nursing Home experience a plus.

Adjunct faculty members are responsible for teaching courses as assigned. Adjunct faculty may teach in the evening, weekends, online and dual enrollment courses as needed.

Faculty are expected to support the institution's mission and vision and abide by the Faculty Handbook and college-wide policies. Adjunct faculty report directly to the academic program manager and/or department chair within their respective departments and divisions.
