Michigan Sugar Company has an immediate full-time opportunity for a Instrument Technician, located at the Bay City Factory, Bay City, 48706. This position is an hourly position working various schedules and is part of the Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers, and Grain Millers Local # 263-G.

Job Summary:

A Instrument Technician at Michigan Sugar's Bay City Factory is responsible for Instrumentation maintenance labor to maintain the factory in an efficient, safe and environmentally sound manner. Requires performing a wide variety of tasks including installing and maintaining Instrumentation systems in and around the factory.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Keep instrumentation systems running to eliminate or minimize down time.
  • Upgrade instrumentation systems as required.
  • Maintain existing instrumentation equipment.
  • Support operations with process optimization through instrument calibration, reliability and tuning.

Position Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years industrial Instrumentation experience
  • Industrial experience, including knowledge in control loops, relay logic, PLC logic and computer based process control.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical and instrumentation prints/drawings.
