Responsible for the maintenance, design and construction of all educational exhibits associated with the Wetlands Center.
Duties
Responsible for the maintenance, design and construction of all educational exhibits and displays associated with the Wetlands Center, including taxidermy exhibits, live plant and animal exhibits, and educational interpretative materials.
Performs general cleaning/maintenance of the Wetlands Center Exhibit Hall.
Assists the Education Coordinator to develop requirements for exhibits, displays and interpretation for outreach and the Wetlands Center.
Works with Animal Care Technician to fulfill animal feeding requirements.
Assists with Wetlands Center administration activities including coordinating vehicle maintenance and maintaining vehicle records.
Performs all other job related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record (must obtain TX driver’s license within 90 days).
Two years of experience in a related field.
Preferred:
One year of exotic animal care experience (reptiles and fish).
Bilingual in English/Spanish.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of biology or environmental science fundamentals, wildlife natural history and habitats, basic carpentry, and computers. Ability to get along appropriately with co-workers and the public.
