What You'll Be Doing

Job Scope: We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join our team and lead efforts in identifying and implementing capital improvement projects within our chemical plant. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemical or oil and gas industries and will be responsible for driving efficiency, safety, and productivity enhancements through strategic project planning and execution.

Primary responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Identify and evaluate opportunities for improvement within the chemical plant, focusing on process optimization, equipment upgrades, and facility enhancements.

  • Develop and manage Front-End Loading (FEL) deliverables for capital projects, ensuring thorough analysis and planning.

  • Create detailed project plans, including scope definition, schedules, resource allocation, and risk assessments.

  • Prepare and manage project budgets, including cost estimates, financial analysis, and ROI calculations.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, maintenance, and management, to align project goals with overall business objectives.

  • Oversee project execution, ensuring adherence to safety standards, quality requirements, and regulatory compliance.

  • Manage relationships with vendors, contractors, and consultants throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Develop and present project proposals, progress reports, and final deliverables to senior management and stakeholders.

  • Continuously monitor industry trends and technological advancements to identify potential areas for improvement and innovation.

Ideal Background

Education: Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Bio-Medical Engineering from an accredited university is required.

Registration: Professional Engineering and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) registration is highly preferred.

Experience: This position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in engineering and project management.

  • Proven track record in successfully planning and executing capital improvement projects.

  • Strong knowledge of chemical plant processes, equipment, and safety regulations.

  • Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).

  • Experience with FEL processes and deliverables.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication and leadership abilities, with experience in stakeholder management.

  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA, ASME).

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time.
