Resonant Sciences LLC Entry Level Material & Processes Engineer in Beavercreek, Ohio

ENTRY LEVEL MATERIAL & PROCESSES ENGINEER

Resonant Sciences has an immediate opening for an entry level Material & Processes Engineer or Mechanical Engineer to join our Dayton, Ohio team to support design, development, and production of composite aerospace structures including radomes and antennas.  The position provides an opportunity to join an elite team whose primary mission is to support our Nation's War Fighters. The candidate for this position must be a self-starter who can work efficiently in a fast-paced environment without the need for regular, direct oversight.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Support requirements definition, conceptual design, preliminary design, critical design, design review presentations, and fabrication for multiple programs. 
  • Create and/or modify composite structures, assemblies, and installations with 3-D CAD tools.
  • Analyze design risks, anticipate, and mitigate risks when possible, and report concerns to leadership.
  • Develop manufacturing plans, tooling concepts, and detailed work instructions for fabrication of advanced composite structures.
  • Support advanced manufacturing and process development efforts.
  • Provide hands-on technical support on the shop floor during manufacturing development and production.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Material Science or Composites Engineering.
  • Familiar with metallic and/or composite design techniques.
  • Familiar with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Strong technical writing, communication, and presentation skills. 
  • Experience with CATIA, Solidworks, Pro Engineer, Creo, Unigraphics, NX or equivalent 3-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) tool.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and/or maintain a Secret Clearance. An active clearance is preferred.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Familiar with composite materials testing and characterization methods.
  • Familiar with materials and processes used in the manufacture of aerospace quality composite structures.
  • Experience with mechanical finite element analysis (FEA) software such as NASTRAN, ABAQUS, or equivalent.
