Northrop Grumman Aerospace Structures Business Unit (ASBU) has an opening for a Manager, General Manufacturing 1 to join our team of highly skilled and diverse individuals. This position support weekday dayshift and will be located in Beavercreek, OH .

The Manager General Manufacturing 1 is responsible for the direct supervision of employees and processes in a manufacturing environment. This leader provides direction to employees utilizing management guidelines and general policies. Overall responsibilities include ensuring employee safety and efficiency, meeting product cost and schedule targets, managing the area to produce quality products, and engaging employees to achieve their highest potential.

This leader is expected to work independently with peers from all functional organizations at the site, manage assigned resources to achieve budget targets, assign and manage daily work assignments of operators/technicians to achieve target productive yields, and perform additional duties and responsibilities as required.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Ensures compliance to all safety and security protocols, processes, and procedures

  • Directs and coordinates the activities to plan, prepare, issue, and execute production schedules to meet production/delivery requirements

  • Oversees the status of work in process, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that equipment, materials, and services are available, as needed

  • Assigns and manages assigned personnel to maximize efficiency and achieve schedule and target productive yield

  • Provides specific direction and training, as required

  • Ensures 5S practice adherence to areas of responsibility

  • Utilizes both internal and external resources, and coordinates cell and functional activities with quality assurance, manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, inventory control, transportation, etc.

Basic Qualifications Required:

  • High School Diploma and 4 years of related experience in a manufacturing, production, or engineering environment

  • 2 years of experience with composites manufacturing processes (lay-up, bonding, curing)

  • 1 year of experience leading people or projects

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance

  • Ability to work alternate shifts and/or overtime as business needs dictate

  • Ability to frequently move and position objects weighing 35 pounds and ascend and descend ladders

  • Ability to work inside and outside in a warehouse environment and a shop floor environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 5 or more years of aerospace composites manufacturing experience

  • Prior leadership experience in a managerial, lead, or supervisory capacity in a manufacturing environment

Salary Range: $86,400 - $129,600

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
