MECHANICAL ENGINEER

POSITION OVERVIEW

 

Resonant is looking for a Mechanical Engineer candidate to join a multi-discipline engineering team that supports hardware development.  We are seeking engineers with education and experience to work in a fast-paced environment developing, building, and testing radomes, antennas, test fixtures, and electronic systems.

 

The selected Engineer will have responsibility for and should have expertise in the following areas: 

  • Development, test, and validation of mechanical designs.
  • Creation and/or modification of primary and secondary structures with 3-D models, assemblies and installations.
  • Familiar with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Experience with metallic and composite design.
  • Knowledgeable of materials testing and characterization methods.
  • Perform requirements definition, conceptual design, preliminary / layout, and detail design, drawing release, design review presentations, and support to fabrication.
  • Analyze design risks, anticipate and mitigate risks when possible, and report concerns to supervisor.
  • Work efficiently in an environment without the need for regular, direct oversight.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS with 4-6 years of experience or Advanced Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering
  • Experience in mechanical design
  • Experience with CATIA, Solidworks, Pro Engineer, Creo, Unigraphics, NX or equivalent 3-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) tool.
  • Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) software, including pre- processing of models and post-processing of results, is desired.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and/or maintain a Secret Clearance. Active clearance is preferred
  • Writing and communication skills with experience contributing to and/or making technical presentations to internal and external customers.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
