Nike Director, Retail Compensation Programs & Consulting - Remote Work Option in Beaverton, Oregon

Open to remote work except in South Dakota, Vermont and West Virginia.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $146,400.00 in our lowest geographic market to $346,200.00 in our highest geographic market. Actual salary will vary based on a candidate's location, qualifications, skills and experience.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

The Director, Retail Compensation Programs will report to the Sr. Director, Compensation. This role will work closely with the broader Global Compensation team—across program design, delivery, and consulting—as well as with various key partners including HR Business Partners, Finance, Legal, HR People Solutions, HR Technology, Internal Communications, and External Vendors & Consultants.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The Director, Retail Compensation Programs & Consulting is a key leader in helping ensure competitive and equitable rewards at Nike. You will lead the design, implementation, ongoing evaluation of retail base pay and pay equity programs, market analytics, and job architecture for our frontline teammates by considering business needs, employee insights, market trends, and best practices. The ideal candidate is skilled at leading a team of subject matter professionals, collaborating on design decisions and solutions with cross-functional partners, and driving work forward through outstanding project management and with a bias for action. This role requires an execution-focused individual who can look at the big picture while considering multiple perspectives—user experience, technology, processes, business needs, market insights, and more—while challenging common assumptions, rethinking existing processes/programs, and seeing every challenge as an opportunity for improvement!

  • Bachelor’s degree or a combination of relevant experience, education and training.

  • 8-10 years of direct meaningful work experience in global compensation analysis, design, advising, and/or operations.

  • 5+ years leading a team of compensation professionals.

  • Experience in Retail Compensation is highly desirable.

  • Goal-oriented with the ability to prioritize on a consistent basis in an evolving, global, and matrixed work environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to build cross-functional relationships and partner with leaders to deliver solutions that are aligned to strategy, support strategic objectives, and meet all legal requirements.

  • Experience in team leadership, partnership, influencing, project management, and communication.

  • Experience with key technologies: PayFactors, SAP, SuccessFactors, Workday, ServiceNow, Smartsheets.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

As the owner of Nike’s global retail job architecture and pay structures, you will provide leadership and guidance on global retail market insights initiatives, survey management, and competitive analysis to guide the design of various retail reward programs, practices, and budgets. You will stay current on compensation related legislation to maintain compliance with applicable local employment requirements, and you’ll share the knowledge broadly.

  • Identify summary trends, make recommendations for annual market adjustments, consult on various compensation matters and seek out opportunities for continued evolution and improvement through observing efficiencies of existing programs, policies, guidelines and by completing associated analysis.

  • Lead as a strategic thought partner using leading practices to manage Nike’s retail job architecture and reimagine retail incentives.

  • Influence, align, and prioritize work to deliver results while championing open communication and clarity with the highest level of integrity, trust, and collaboration within and across teams.

  • Coach and guide team, identify and provide growth opportunities, give and accept regular feedback, and celebrate the wins.
