Fortive Corporation Product Engineering Technician – Microelectronics Assembly & Test in Beaverton, Oregon

The Product Engineering Technician supports manufacturing by responding to daily issues on the manufacturing floor, solving problems, and escalating to the Product Engineer as appropriate.

  • Assists the Product Engineer in supporting the manufacture, test, and shipment of complex commercial and high-compliance military products.

  • Requires working closely with manufacturing associates to ensure that complex product flows, data collection, and paperwork requirements are rigorously followed per documented process.

  • Provides assistance with executing special evaluation or qualification builds as well as collection and organization of critical data. Provides assistance to logistics to ensure product shipment documentation complies with requirements.

  • This role is a late-weekend shift position and requires a clear communicator who can investigate problems independently.

  • Job Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Experience working in a manufacturing facility and interfacing with engineering.

  • Experience using and interpreting Bills of Materials (BOMs) and product routings.

  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to create spreadsheets, use formulas, conditional formatting, and create pivot tables.

  • Intermediate Microsoft Word skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proven ability to learn new processes.

  • Detail oriented; able to methodically verify and cross-reference documentation and system data.

  • Ability to adapt to a multitude of different product-specific requirements and carry out solutions per engineering instructions.

  • Ability to document actions and results of activities performed.

Preferred:

  • Associates degree

  • 1 year of experience working as an engineering technician in a manufacturing facility.

  • Previous experience with military requirements or other high-compliance products.

  • Experience interacting with MRP systems.

  • Excel programing/troubleshooting experience using Visual Basic for Applications (VBA).

  • Structured Query Language (SQL) programming/troubleshooting experience.
