We are looking for detailed oriented and technology savvy individuals to join our team of Product Quality and Reliability Engineers. Our team is responsible for ensuring manufactured product meets internal, customer and regulator standards. You will work with cross-functional teams to problem solve and identify areas for improvement using Fortive’s mantra “Kaizen is our way of life”.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews customer requirements for compatibility with company policies, regulatory and applicable industry standards (MIL, IPC, ISO, etc.)

  • Identifies gaps between customer requirements and current quality assurance processes. Collaborates with project core team to mitigate.

  • Audit product compliance to requirements and maintain product compliance records.

  • Work with process owners to implement gauge studies (MSA), FMEAs, process control plans and SPC.

  • Supports production quality resolution with containment, root cause, corrective and preventive actions. May lead Problem Solving or CLCA activities.

  • Provide guidance and support to Quality Inspectors.

  • Define and execute Verification Test Plans for manufacturing changes that may impact quality or compliance.

  • Participate in or lead business process improvements to enhance Quality & Productivity of product quality & compliance activities. This may include automation via software improvements.

  • May communicate directly with customers.

  • May program and run Reliability Test equipment.

  • Depending on the candidate, may help manage Reliability Lab activities.

Minimum Requirements:

  • B.S. degree in a technical field (STEM)

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Compliance Engineer, Quality Engineer, Process Engineer, or Product Engineer role, preferably in a Manufacturing environment.

  • 2 Years experience in an ISO9001 or AS9100 environment.

  • Working experience with MIL-PRF-38534, MIL-PRF-38535, or equivalent

  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.

  • Familiarity with SPC (Statistical Process Control) and MSA (Measurement System Analysis).

  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams including Problem Solving or Corrective Action efforts

  • Experience with JMP or other analytical software.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Desired Skills:

  • B.S. or M.S. in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or Quality Engineering

  • Working experience in the electronics industry, preferably in an SMT/microelectronic assembly and test environment.

  • Prior experience in the Semiconductor or Microelectronic Industries.

  • Experience with Power Apps, Power BI, python or Javascript.

  • Experience setting up and managing databases.

  • Detailed understanding of AS9100D and/or APQP (AS9145)

  • Knowledge of Military and Industry Standards (MIL-STD-883, IPC-601)

  • Experience with maintaining compliance records.

  • Experience with managing databases.

  • Experience with thermal cycle chambers.

  • ASQ certification (CQA, CQE or CRE)

This position's primary/essential functions are subject to U.S. Government ITAR compliance requirements under current government contracts.
