Department Summary:
We are currently seeking a Cleared Software Engineer to join the Cross-cutting Urgent Innovation Cell (CUIC), an organization that is unique to MITRE because:

Roles & Responsibilities:
Work on a team with other software engineers, business operations, and modeling&simulation staff to maintain and improve a virtual environment
Create and present deliverables to government sponsor(s) and MITRE leadership
Maintain and organize a software Bill of Materials for a virtual environment and ensure it meets MITRE and sponsor requirements.
Coordinate and communicate with users, to include access control, environment needs, and requests.
Track licensed products within virtual environment, to include usage and logistics
Communicate updates (e.g. outages, patch windows) to environment users and operating team
Ideate and architect shared software deployment strategies with lead software engineers
Basic Qualifications:
Active TS/SCI clearance.
Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with relevant experience who can immediately contribute at this job step; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
Experience developing in linux/unix operating systems.
Experience with software engineering concepts such as development, debugging, git, code reviews, continuous integration, and testing.
Demonstrated problem-solving skills and capable of working in a cross-functional environment that includes engineers, scientists, data analysts, and technical software developers.
Experience with container technologies / DevSecOps (e.g. Docker, Singularity)
Strong organization and communication skills
Experience in cloud compute environments (e.g. Azure, AWS)
This position requires a minimum of 4 days a week on-site
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with container orchestration tools (e.g. Kubernetes, OpenShift).
Bachelors and/or Masters degree focus in computer science, engineering, or artificial intelligence and related work experience
Experience developing in Python
Experience in developing / coding in high-side environment(s) (e.g. JWICS)
Security+ training or an equivalent IAT Level II certification
