The Life Sciences Solutions Group (LSG) and Bioproduction Group (BPG) is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant who will provide costing support for the Bedford, MA, Chelmsford, MA, Greenville, SC plants, and the Frederick, MD SAP DC inventory. This role will closely interact and partner with the PPA Division Team.

Core Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Operations Finance team to analyze cost data to find opportunities to improve the total cost of product manufactured in different sites.

  • Perform weekly WOV and PPV reviews and translate findings into actionable revisions with planning or procurement to identify root cause.

  • Analyze and maintain cost accounting and inventory systems

  • Partner with site finance to provide analysis of at-risk inventory

  • Complete regular tasks relating to the monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial close process, including reconciliations.

  • Partner with Value Stream Managers to review new standards and their impacts on margin, inventory re-valuation and Capitalized Variance netting, along with updating Labor and Overhead rates.

  • Quantify savings for potential projects/initiatives.

  • Identify process improvements for data reporting, extraction of data, reconciliation between source SAP/E1 systems, GL and transactional data to consolidated reporting.

  • Active participation in initiatives to review BOMs and or rate routing through PP1 project and during NPI

  • Consult in technical accounting related issues during month and quarterly-end. Understand the accounting impact of proposed transactions and ensure GAAP is maintained.

  • Provide expertise during the accounting integration of mergers and acquisition of production movements.

  • Provide clear supporting explanations and documentation to SOX and External auditors

  • Maintain data integrity globally for SAP costing including but not limited to cost re-rolls, PPV, WOV and cost discrepancies.

  • Demonstrate judgment, tact, and subtlety during interactions with internal and external customers.

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of sophisticated manufacturing cost accounting or finance experience

  • Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems is a must (SAP / JD Edwards E1 knowledge, strongly preference)

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Thrive in a matrixed and fast-paced environments

  • Keep an eye toward continuous improvement with a successful track record of optimizing processes

  • Participate in ad-hoc projects and accurate completion in a timely manner.
