Description 2nd Shift Maintenance Opportunity available in Bedford Heights, Ohio. Castle Metals is seeking a steel industry Maintenance Technician who will be responsible for performing repair and preventative maintenance on operational equipment, building(s), and/or grounds. The hours are Monday - Friday, 3 pm - 11 pm. This position is eligible for benefits, retirement and an incentive. The general work schedule will be Monday - Friday, 3pm - 11 pm, and occasional overtime is required to get machines back on line. At times preventative maintenance may be required on a weekend, to prevent interruption to production. This position is eligible for overtime pay. Candidates must have at least 2 years of proven experience in repairing industrial machines and knowledge of welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, lubrication, gearing, bearings & conveyor systems in an industrial environment. Experience with Industrial band saw & Industrial burning equipment is preferred. This person must also have basic math skills and proficiency with unit of measure with ruler, calipers, etc. We are seeking someone who not only values safety and efficiency, but who is detail focused and interested in working in a team environment. The Maintenance Technician will work from the Bedford Heights location daily and will report directly to the Maintenance Manager - due to the nature of the position a remote schedule is not possible. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES: Essential Primary Responsibilities: * Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment, such as motors, pumps, conveyors, belts, fans, air conditioners, etc. * Examines mechanical equipment to diagnose issue. * Disassembles machines and repairs or replaces broken parts. * Adjusts functional parts of mechanical devices as necessary. * Cleans and lubricates parts. * Coordinates and/or assists in outside repair services. * Orders replacement parts. * Inspects complete repairs. * Maintains records of repair and maintenance. * Maintains a clean and safe work environment. * Responsible for special projects as assigned. Physical Demands/Working Conditions: * General office environment, PC use * Stooping, standing, and manual dexterity * Exposure to powered industrial equipment * Operates machinery and/or power tools * Lifting (occasionally 25 pounds or less) * Operates motor vehicles or heavy equipment * Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Required Experience: Type, Skills, and Years: * High School Diploma or GED * One year of maintenance experience - Experience in machining, welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, lubrication, including knowledge of gearing, bearings, conveyor * Industrial band saw & Industrial burning equipment * PC literacy * Basic measurement competency * Basic math competency * Ability to work with a team and problem solve mechanical issues * Ability to reference machine manuals for information such as part numbers, trouble-shooting, etc. Preferred Qualifications: * Two years of warehouse experience * Willingness to learn from season technicians * Ability to read blue prints * Capable of being certified in assigned equipment (forklift, Raymond side-loader, overhead crane, etc.) * Knowledge of all warehouse equipment and commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a warehouse environment<
