Accounts Receivable Specialist

The Accounts Receivable Specialist is a member of the Accounts Receivable Shared Services Center team. This role will focus primarily on collections from our customers and assisting the team to ensure timely application of payments in our systems. The Specialist will provide partnership and support, cross-functionally to business units and business regions.

FACILITATES CASHFLOW BY:

Reviewing and resolving daily delinquent accounts by contacting customers through verbal and written correspondence.

Analyzing account information and reviewing payment trends.

Continuous involvement in dispute investigation and resolution.

Communicating with SSC management and business regions/units concerning delinquent accounts and potential bad debt risk.

Collaborative effort by SSC team to place accounts on credit hold due to non-payment.

Review accounts for credit line increases to facilitate increased levels of business.

Providing recommendations for accounts to be placed with outside collections agencies.

MANAGES CUSTOMER ACCOUNTS BY:

Assisting cash application team by investigating unauthorized deductions and overpayments on customer account(s).

Perform account reconciliations.

Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Accurate and timely documentation of customer account status.

ESTABLISHES CUSTOMER ACCOUNTS BY:

Upon request, review incoming credit applications and recommend appropriate credit limit.

Identify and forward high-risk prospects to the Manager.

Able to read and interpret credit bureaus data and trade references.

ENSURES ACCURACY AND TIMELINESS OF CREDIT OPERATIONS BY:

Providing supporting documentation to customers as requested.

Resolving declined credit card transactions and disputes.

Assisting the cash applications team, as necessary, with posting instructions on customer accounts.

Requirements:

High school diploma, associate degree preferred.

5+ years of experience in Shared Service Center Environment.

Experience with collections, cash application, credit, financial statement analysis and accounts receivable daily functions.

Large ERP system, Syspro, Microsoft D365 or Microsoft AX is a plus.

Understanding of B2B collection laws and practices.

Experience working in a Shared Service Center environment desired.
