System One Design Control Coordinator (Remote) in Bellevue, Washington

System One is seeking a motivated Design Control Coordinator to oversee and manage engineering design activities, coordinate interfaces across project teams, and facilitate work planning. This is a 12-month remote contract role.

In this position, you will regularly interact with multiple engineering teams to coordinate required tasks, develop detailed schedules for the execution of design control packages, and support teams in forecasting to meet project milestones. You will collaborate with engineers working on plant-level functions, systems, components, and analyses, ensuring comprehensive project schedule management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate detailed schedule interfaces for design control package activities within the Plant Delivery team and maintain external logic links to other design teams. Track milestones and align task activities.

  • Support annual schedule, resource, and budget planning efforts for the project.

  • Collaborate with the project controls organization to manage and update the high-level engineering schedule. Lead change approval processes for new or emerging engineering tasks in line with project standards.

  • Break down high-level engineering tasks into detailed subtask schedules for various design teams.

  • Organize technical integration team meetings and provide status updates.

  • Track team assignments and manage resource leveling across time. Generate weekly resource forecasts and coordinate with stakeholders for approval, ensuring resource requests are tracked with resource managers.

  • Develop and manage standard design activity sequences for future phases, including procurement and integrated analysis.

  • Collect status reports from design teams and update project reporting platforms. Provide periodic updates to engineering leaders, identifying resource or schedule bottlenecks.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. or higher in Engineering from an accredited institution and 4+ years of experience in project management.

  • PMP certification preferred.

  • Proven experience in managing engineering activities, preferably in nuclear, energy, infrastructure, or aerospace industries.

  • Strong understanding of technical schedule management, including reporting, schedule development, logic sequencing, and resource forecasting.

  • Experience with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar project management tools.

  • Familiarity with Atlassian tools such as Confluence and JIRA is a plus.

  • Knowledge of design control and configuration management principles.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.

  • Self-starter with the ability to lead cross-functional efforts with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to manage projects with competing objectives and design constraints, resolving priority conflicts effectively.

  • High integrity, open communication, respect for others, and a commitment to fostering teamwork.
