Equipment Qualification Engineer – Seismic

System One is actively seeking a qualified Equipment Qualification Engineer with seismic and commercial nuclear experience for a remote, contract position lasting 12 months, subject to extension or conversion.

Role Overview:

  • Report to the Equipment Qualification Program Manager.

  • Provide daily support for projects and contribute to the development of Equipment Qualification Programs.

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure regulatory compliance in design and licensing strategies.

  • Engage with the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission for pre-application discussions, report preparation, and information requests.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement equipment qualification programs.

  • Ensure new designs comply with regulatory requirements.

  • Maintain licensing documentation per quality assurance standards.

  • Coordinate with TerraPower, partners, and contractors.

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Mechanical Engineering or related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in equipment qualification.

  • Proficiency in ASME Standards (QME-1, OM Code), IEEE-344, and other relevant standards.

  • Proven experience in seismic design within the nuclear industry.

  • Familiarity with NEI 18-04, Regulatory Guide 1.233, and environmental qualification guides.

  • Experience with vendor test facilities and current industry trends.

  • Strong adherence to quality assurance protocols.

  • Proficient in MS Office and Adobe Professional.

  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.

  • Advanced Rx Experience and a solid background in regulatory compliance are essential for this role. The ideal candidate will demonstrate initiative, deadline management, and a commitment to integrity and teamwork.
