Amazon Program Security Manager, Kuiper Law Enforcement and Intercept in Bellevue, Washington

Description

Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.

As the Global Program Security Manager for Kuiper Law Enforcement and Intercept (LER-I) you will own and oversee the execution of multiple security disciplines in support of the LER-I program. You will be responsible for all Global security and compliance requirements related to LER-I. You must obsess over internal and external customers and successfully deliver support and services which meet regulatory guidelines and enable our business to respond with speed, and at scale. You must be autonomous, move fast, manage security relevant projects from start to finish, continuously triage and prioritize work for yourself and others, communicate clearly and compellingly, and deliver exceptional products.

Export Control Requirement:

Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Key job responsibilities

As the Global Security Program Manager you will manage the intake, data sourcing and legal assurance activities to support both day to day LER Data and Information Requests as well as Lawful Intercept requirements. You will be responsible for decisioning high judgement requests for all levels and sectors of law enforcement. You will support direct engagement with Regulators as needed for licensure, ongoing inquiries and investigations, and any audits that may be requested.

As a manager you will develop and hire the team driving all aspects of the LER operational process including intake, review and research for data provision, assurance and legal review for all data, in addition to communicating directly with LEAs. Your role will drive build out of LER capabilities for new Kuiper legal entities, countries, and jurisdictions in support of the Kuiper business strategy and expansion priorities.

A day in the life

  • Responsible for building and implementing comprehensive program security guidance concerning personnel, physical, operational, technical, information, and other security issues according to global LER-I regulations.

  • Create, implement, communicate, and manage security requirements while providing day-to-day multi-discipline program security operations support and oversight for the LER-I programs.

  • Proactively identify program and physical security initiatives, requirements, problems, and present sound solutions to successfully sustain and enhance the security program

  • Develop and strengthen relationships with internal and external partners to heighten security awareness and engagement.

Basic Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years security industry experience responsible for complex compliance requirements

  • A minimum of 7 years management experience leading high performance operational teams

  • Prior experience with making and/or responding to law enforcement requests

  • Prior experience managing Lawful Intercept requests

  • Hold or be capable of attaining US Security Clearance related to sensitive requests

Preferred Qualifications

*Excellent ability to build strong relationships with internal and external clients and customers

*Global security or communications compliance management experience

*Additional language proficiency preferred

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $118,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $252,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
