Amazon Software Development Engineer II, Fulfillment Availability in Bellevue, Washington

Description

Fulfillment Availability (FA) is part of the Fulfillment Optimization (FO) group of Supply Chain Optimization Technologies (SCOT) and owns the building blocks of any supply chain - network wide inventory tracking and management. FA ingests millions of inventory signals every day and normalizes them into a single high-availability, low-latency interface. FA own demand-supply matching algorithms that expose the current supply for various steps of shopper's journey from providing a promised delivery date to optimal order fulfillment. FA supports various business use cases through APIs that respond to 100s of thousands requests per second.

Software Development Engineers (SDEs) in FA create software to support new inventory models for new businesses, and work closely with various other teams in SCOT to optimize Amazon's supply chain to maximize LTFCF (Long Term Free Cash Flow). FA is at a pivotal point in its long history where its changing from playing defense to playing offense by modernizing its infrastructure to support new businesses at a high velocity. SDEs form the core of our offense.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
