The Global Reliability and Maintenance Engineering (RME) team is looking for a skilled, customer-obsessed Senior Business Intelligence Engineer to join our dynamic organization.

As a Senior BI Engineer in the RME Central MAP team, you will work with large volumes of data to solve complex business problems and provide actionable insights through data analytics. You will collaborate with senior leaders across RME to align scalable metrics, track measurable results, and develop strategic opportunities where data improvements can drive significant impact. The successful candidate will have extensive experience designing and delivering analytical solutions in a highly ambiguous environment, be comfortable working with both technical and non-technical audiences, and have strong analytical and communication skills.

Key job responsibilities

• Own the design, development, and maintenance of metrics, reports, dashboards, and analyses to drive key business decisions.

• Collaborate with product managers, engineering teams, and stakeholders to drive project delivery and strategic initiatives.

• Lead the functional and technical design of BI solutions, including user interfaces, architecture, and data processing.

• Develop statistical analyses and visualizations for ad-hoc requests and ongoing reporting.

• Troubleshoot data and analysis issues, research root causes, propose solutions, and implement resolutions.

• Create scalable, automated processes for large-scale data analysis and model development.

• Lead end-to-end projects, including data gathering, synthesis, modeling, and communication of insights.

• Engage with leadership and customers to understand needs and recommend BI solutions.

• Partner with cross-functional teams to standardize processes and improve reporting.

• Participate in strategic planning discussions, gathering requirements, and delivering complete BI solutions.

• Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation, leading change initiatives.

• Ensure best practices in reporting, analysis, data integrity, and documentation.

• Design, write, and manage specifications for reporting and analytical systems.

• Improve the analytics architecture and tools to provide scalable and efficient solutions.

• Build operational plans by aligning objectives and resources with senior leadership and stakeholders.

• Drive innovation by integrating AI and LLM technologies into the analytics domain.

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of SQL experience

• Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets

• Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results

• Experience with AWS technologies

• Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.

• Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs

• Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $117,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $202,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
