Amazon Sr. Program Manager, Alexa International in Bellevue, Washington

Join us for a unique opportunity as the Sr. Program Manager to bring new Alexa experiences to our international customers!

This Sr. Program Manager role is responsible for program managing some of the most complex and strategic international Alexa projects. This role will develop and manage the internationalization of high visibility projects, including defining milestones, identifying dependencies, long poles, resourcing, and success metrics. This role will coordinate efforts of cross-functional teams around the globe to meet launch dates, including engineering, Product Management, QA, Business Development, Solutions Architects, PR, Sales and Marketing, legal, public policy, and others. As the Sr. Program Manager for Alexa International you will have an enormous opportunity to influence the customer experience of cutting edge products that will be used every day by people in various countries and languages.

Table stakes for this Sr. Program Manager position will be to identify bottlenecks, surface blocker issues, provide escalation management, and report progress to senior leadership and stakeholders. Your ability as a Sr. Program Manager to take large complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces, develop functional specifications, then deliver them in a successful and timely manner will be critical.

Key job responsibilities

  • Develop and manage programs plans and timelines

  • Define work streams, milestones, dependencies, proposed completion dates, resource requirements, and key success metrics

  • Coordinate efforts of cross-functional teams across countries and with varying seniority levels, including engineering, Product Management, QA, Business Development, Solutions Architects, PR, Sales and Marketing, legal, public policy, and others

  • Ensure work streams are completed according to plan and raise awareness when delays result in program-wide changes

  • Report progress to leadership and stakeholders and establish feedback loops to align on key decisions.

A day in the life

  • Partner with work stream owners to ensure we have clear statuses

  • Manage programs timelines and make updates based on recent developments

  • Lead Launch Readiness meetings with stakeholders and senior leaders and send status reports

  • Raise awareness of program launch blockers to senior leaders

About the team

The Alexa International Launch team ensures devices and experiences are designed and built for all customers and that they launch at or above our customer experience quality bar across countries and languages. The launch team builds the international working backwards schedules, defines international requirements, tracks device hero feature parity, bar raises “true” international-specific launch blockers, owns resolution of them, and reports status and progress for international stakeholders on Launch Readiness meetings. The team also designs and implements mechanisms that streamlines launches internationally.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

  • Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams

  • Experience working in a matrixed organization

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Master's degree in management, business administration, economics, engineering, marketing

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
