Amazon Sr. Technical Infrastructure Program Manager (Sr. TIPM) – Hydrogen & Microgrid Asset Manager , Global Energy Infrastructure in Bellevue, Washington

Description

We are seeking an experienced Sr. Technical Infrastructure Program Manager (Sr. TIPM) – Hydrogen & Microgrid Asset Manager to lead the development and execution of a comprehensive operations and maintenance (O&M) program for hydrogen-powered industrial trucks (PIT), stationary hydrogen power systems, and microgrid assets. This role will spearhead the creation of a best-in-class asset management framework that seamlessly integrates with our Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) processes and tools.

Key job responsibilities

• Program Development and Oversight:

o Design, launch, and manage a comprehensive O&M program for hydrogen PIT, stationary hydrogen systems, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and natural gas generation systems. This program should include regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and repair procedures.

o Establish a framework for asset tracking, maintenance scheduling, and life-cycle management consistent with RME processes and standard tools. Create a flexible program structure that can easily incorporate new asset types and adapt to growing operational requirements

o Manage small to medium sized retrofit programs that improve asset performance or enable future integration of hydrogen or various onsite generation technologies.

o Support commissioning and pre-startup safety reviews of onsite co-generation systems.

• Asset Management:

o Develop systems for tracking and logging maintenance schedules, performance metrics, and repair histories for all assets.

o Work closely with on-site teams and supply-partners to create and maintain an accurate inventory of all physical assets, including equipment and facilities.

o Utilize predictive analytics and machine learning algorithms (where necessary) to analyze asset data, optimize performance, and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.

• Stakeholder Collaboration:

o Act as the liaison between internal teams, RME leadership, and external supply partners , to integrate existing tools and methodologies into the program.

o Provide regular program updates and insights to stakeholders, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

• Scalability and Innovation:

o Expand the O&M program across all geographies ensuring consistency to Amazon standards and local regulations.

o Identify and implement innovative approaches to continually improve the reliability and efficiency of hydrogen-powered systems and battery energy storage systems.

• Performance Monitoring:

o Define baselines, metrics for performance management, and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of the O&M program against the baselines.

o Use insights from program data to inform decisions, identify trends, and implement improvements.

• Travel:

o Travel up to 60% of the time

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Management, Operations Management, or a related field.

• 3+ years maintaining and operating facilities that utilize highly hazardous chemicals and/or experience with natural gas generation systems.

• 10+ years of experience in managing O&M programs, asset management, or hydrogen-based systems.

• Strong knowledge of preventative and predictive maintenance methodologies.

• Demonstrated success in managing large-scale, technical programs across multiple sites or asset types.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
