What It's Like The Data Engineering team within our Platform Orchestration and Data Services team works on creating scalable data pipelines for various lines of business and data science for a myriad of initiatives to use data to fuel business growth and cost optimization. What You'll Do As a team that manages hundreds of data pipelines, we need industry leading observability and monitoring of those pipelines to quickly find and resolve various issues that may arise. You'll be building pipelines for this logging data from our various frameworks and pipelines and moving it to a centralized service that serves as the backbone of our monitoring and reporting for our pipelines and data services for both batch and streaming data pipelines. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with data engineers and architects to understand best practices for log data consumption, movement, and storage Develop reusable libraries and services that facilitate data movement of logs from pipelines and services to a centralized data repository Develop the backend services and reporting for monitoring our pipelines, as well as any reporting and dashboarding needed for management What It Takes Proficiency in a programming language typically used for data engineering, such as python or scala. Also knowledge of environments like Azure, Databricks, notebooks is a plus. Familiarity with Git, key vaults, data modeling and architecture also a plus Willingness to experiment and learn from failure Determination to break through barriers, mitigate risks, and overcome problems through constant learning and iterate to bring a solution to life Minimum Qualifications At least 18 years of age Legally authorized to work in the United States Must have graduated within the last 12-months, OR be actively enrolled in a Bachelors or Graduate degree program Employees of T-Mobile or Metro by T-Mobile are ineligible for Internships Employer does not sponsor work visas for this position. Note that this also applies to individuals who are students in F-1 status who desire sponsorship after they complete their education. Relocation assistance may be provided to program participants who reside more than 50 miles from the internship location. Intern wages range from $20/hour to $40/hour. The successful candidate's actual pay will be based on experience/location. Never stop growing!
