The HR Business Partner oversees and coordinates the HR needs for a community, group of business units, or supporting system-wide initiatives. May represent Human Resources on community leadership team. Provides HR expertise to senior leaders. Services as a mentor providing guidance to other HR Partner Organization colleagues. Translates their thorough knowledge of healthcare into HR best practices for the clients, focusing on change management, leadership development, succession planning, operational effectiveness and employee relations. Aligns People and Culture solutions with PeaceHealth organizational strategies, key objectives and mission.

What you will enjoy:

  1. Engaging and partnering with leaders at all levels of the organization on people and culture related initiatives. Developing and implementing strategic priorities that support mission, operational and department goals.

  2. Building strong and trusting relationships with leadership. Proactively translating the group's business strategies into HR solutions. Applying analytics and metrics to drive sound recommendations and solutions.

  3. Proactively managing complex employee and labor relations issues.

  4. Advising leadership in administration of labor contracts. Examining supervisory practices and local policies and procedures for compliance with labor contracts. Participating in negotiating labor contracts and daily engagement with labor union representatives. Responding to grievances and request for information; using internal resources as appropriate.

  5. Providing expert advice, coaching, and counsel to leaders and caregivers on Culture and People programs, policy and procedures, employment/labor laws, communication & conflict resolution, inspiration & engagement, formation & development, change management, diversity/inclusion, ethics & and organizational development and design in alignment with our mission and strategic priorities.

  6. In consultation with Culture and People leadership, collaborating for appropriate outcomes with leadership, Centers of Expertise and the HR Service Center to balance caregiver needs, policies, procedures, compliance with regulatory standards and PeaceHealth Mission, Values, and strategies.

  7. May coordinate or lead HRPO project work to include policy review, standardizing processes, competency development, and roll-out of initiatives.

  8. Performs other duties as assigned.

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or business administration required, or other relevant discipline is required or a combination of education and professional experience that provides the caregiver with the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the job.

  • Master's degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 7 years human resources experience, or equivalent leadership experience, including an understanding of a shared services organization.

  • Recent experience in the healthcare industry preferred.

  • Previous experience in a HRBP or equivalent role, strongly oriented towards relationship development.

  • Strong employee and labor relations experience managing complex investigations, grievances and impact bargaining.

  • Extensive and progressive development/knowledge of complex human resources service line support in a COE model. Prior leadership and/or supervisory experience. (Preferred)

  • SHRM Certified Professional

  • SHRM Senior Certified Professional

  • Certified Professional Human Resources

  • Certified Senior Professional Human Resources

Additional Skills:

  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance, federal and state laws with a working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines.

  • Knowledge of employee & labor relations.

  • Mediation and conflict resolutions skills.

  • Investigation skills.

  • Knowledge of organizational and team dynamics and methods to support continued improvement in these areas.

  • Ability to develop and present concise information.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Understanding of operations within the healthcare industry.

  • Ability to identify, utilize and interpret workforce-related metrics.

  • Proficient in the use of MS Office application.

  • Proficient in the use of a major HRIS system. (Preferred)

The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $101,000 – $151,000. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, seniority, etc.

WORKING CONDITIONS

PeaceHealth requires a completed Primary Vaccine Series (e.g., 2 dose monovalent Pfizer, Moderna or Novavax series or 1 dose J&J vaccine series) or be Up to Date (receiving the most recent Pfizer/Moderna bivalent vaccine/booster) for COVID-19 vaccination prior to their start date. PeaceHealth has a medical and religious exemption request process for those that are unable to receive the COVID-19 primary vaccine series due to medical/religious reasons. For caregivers that will be working in Oregon there is a personal vaccine exemption form that may be requested.
