SUMMARY

An Assembler works from drawings or other specifications and follows established procedures to assemble components and complete medical devices.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow drawings and other requirements and instructions to assemble components and build complete units.
  • Inspect and perform quality checks and verify specifications of products and parts.
  • Read and comprehend work instructions and follow established procedures.
  • Train in and perform all tasks conducted by the team and rotate through one or all tasks in the production process.
  • Collect all material and equipment needed for the current process.
  • Grind and smooth edges to complete a quality product.
  • Identify and report on issues, malfunction, or defective parts or materials.
  • Package finished products.
  • Keep records of production quantities and time.
  • Sweep and otherwise clean work areas.
  • Maintain good safety habits and practices and follow all safety guidelines.
  • Use torque wrenches, measurement devices, screwdrivers, and other hand tools.
  • Use power drivers, drills, riveters, cutters, and other power tools.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities.
  • Comply, encourage, and support all safety rules and regulations.
  • Maintain clean work area.
  • Other reasonable duties as business and operational needs dictate.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Prior experience in manufacturing, assembly, automotive repair, carpentry or equivalent highly desirable.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Comfortable working with hand tools and power tools.
  • Ability to read and understand specifications and work instruction in English.
  • Ability to perform basic math, including understanding fractions.
  • Good manual dexterity and attention to detail and quality is essential.
  • Ability to read a tape measure.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Commitment to good attendance and performance.
  • Able to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Must be able to understand and comply with Safety Practices.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about facility.
  • Frequently required to use fine motor skills to grasp, push, pull or twist.
  • Walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs.
  • Near vision acuity
