One of our clients is looking for a payroll administrator for a contract to permanent placement opportunity.

Major responsibilities
Compile summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages as part of report preparation
Managing payroll information by keeping proper records for collecting, calculating, and entering data
Handle reconciliation of employee deductions and other relevant liabilities
Handle specific weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports for department heads
Exercise review and verification of source documents
Ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations and guidelines
Provide assistance as necessary for all internal and external audits related to payroll
Maintaining employee confidence and protecting payroll operations by keeping information confidential
Perform other tasks as necessary
Determining payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer social security, unemployment, and worker compensation payments
Updating payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers
Resolving payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
Continue implementation of established policies and procedures to maintain payroll operations, reporting changes where necessary
Answer questions and requests related to payroll information
Requirements
Proficient with high volume multi-state payroll, billing, licensing, AP, etc.
Outstanding analytical, quantitative and social skills
Process Bi-weekly Payroll experience
Solid understanding of Certified Payroll
Multistate Payroll experience highly desired
Weekly Payroll experience
Demonstrated knowledge of journal entries
Union payroll experience
Adeptness in Microsoft Excel
3+ years of relevant experience in payroll
Well-informed in basic accounting principles and solid financial acumen
Mastery of internal controls
Command of Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills
Earlier experience working with various types of accounting software desired
Data entry, document management, file creation and previous records experience required
Understanding of federal and state payroll regulations and requirements
