Lead and drive our data risk initiative. This role will strengthen the Enterprise Risk Management program and will be instrumental in supervising the planning, execution, and delivery of data-centric programs in line with our organization's strategic data goals. This position calls for robust leadership, communication, and project management abilities, complemented by a strong understanding of data concepts and technologies.

The Enterprise Data Strategy team is at the forefront of shaping our organization's data-driven future. We drive the development and execution of the enterprise data strategy, empowering our organization to harness the power of data to drive innovation, enhance decision-making, and achieve strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and implement a strategic roadmap for data risk initiatives aligned with the organization's goals and priorities. Collaborate with key stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, and success criteria.

  • Responsible for oversight and execution of critical data risk programs as program manager, with required SME input.

  • Lead cross-functional project teams to execute data-related projects from initiation to closure. Define project plans, timelines, resource requirements, and deliverables. Monitor project progress, identify risks and dependencies, and implement mitigation strategies as needed.

  • Establish and maintain effective communication with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Provide regular updates on project status, key milestones, and risks. Facilitate decision-making and resolve conflicts to ensure alignment and support for data initiatives.

  • Manage project budgets, resource allocations, and vendor relationships to ensure efficient utilization of resources and adherence to project timelines and budgets.

  • Identify potential risks and issues related to data projects and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project delivery. Proactively monitor and address project risks to ensure successful outcomes.

  • Within program portfolio, ensure implementation of best practices for data governance, data quality, and data management to ensure the integrity and reliability of data assets.

  • Lead change management efforts to support the adoption of new data tools, technologies, and processes. Leverage training materials, conduct training sessions, and provide ongoing support to users to promote data literacy and adoption.

  • Evaluate project performance and outcomes to identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization. Implement lessons learned and best practices to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of data initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field. Master's degree preferred

  • 6+ in program management, project management, or related role, preferably in a data-driven environment

  • Strong understanding of data concepts, technologies, and best practices, including data governance, data analytics, and data visualization

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization

  • Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Kanban). PMP or equivalent certification is a plus

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

3 years' supervisory experience.
