Travel: Requires 10 % travel

Reports to: Manager II, Customer Supply Chain

Job Summary

The priority of the role is to identify, direct, and align the operational resources required to successfully and profitably manage the account supply chain needs. This position requires a solid understanding of customer replenishment procedures and supply chain topics such as inventory management, forecast/demand planning, and order/product flow, transportation management and direct import as well as the customer systems of Luminate, Retail Link, OTIF, and SQEP. The Manager, Customer Supply Chain must be able to effectively recognize supply chain improvement areas, create related KPIs, and successfully implement them across the organization to drive activities which facilitate sales growth, profitability gains, customer-service metrics improvement, and reputational capital gains.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Sales Interaction –The Manager, Customer Supply Chain provides ongoing guidance and support to the sales teams regarding supply chain issues, forecasting direction, transportation trends, capacity updates, and a wide variety of operational/supply chain inputs to support business objectives.

  • Replenishment – The Manager, Customer Supply Chain is the primary point of contact with the customer for replenishment of Newell Brands business segments. This role will be responsible for aligning resources and directing activities such as: supply chain reporting, customer KPIs, root cause analysis, and spotting inventory trends. The Manager, Customer Supply Chain will examine the impact of customer inventory tactics/policies on shipments and inventory goals both at the customer and internally. The Manager, Customer Supply Chain will strive to maximize customer replenishment metrics.

  • Distribution & Transportation Leadership – This role should be a subject matter expert on distribution & transportation topics and order flow execution as they seek to support high service levels at the minimum costs. Projects may include volume analysis, creating event load planning recommendations, optimizing cube capacity, lead-time analysis, identifying alternative shipment modes, and MOQ/EOQ recommendations.

  • Forecasting – The Manager, Supply Chain aligns with the customer and Newell Brands teams to identify and interpret the key demand signals and their corresponding impacts on customer and internal inventory positions. Frequent contacts with customer replenishment and financial planning teams will be required to help forecast replenishment patterns, promotional events, and modular updates. This role works with business segments’ Demand Planning team to translate this information into forecast inputs. This position understands forecasting complexities, sources of variability, and aligns resources to support the variations in the customer demand. This role will participate in the S&OP and S&OE processes to improve the customer’s service metrics while meeting Newell Brands sales goals.

Education, Experience & Skills Profile

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a Business background preferred, but a proven track record of successful experience will also be considered.

  • 5+ years Walmart/Mass/Club business experience marked with significant experience addressing customer supply chain tasks.

  • Solid understanding of Walmart data systems, organizational roles, and supply chain processes

  • Proven ability to form and maintain positive relationships within the customer and internal functions

  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team

  • Excellent organization and analytical skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Luminate, and Retail Link required

  • High level of proficiency in executive level communications

  • Strong presentation skills

  • Sound financial acumen

  • Customer satisfaction focused

  • Experience with SAP and Power BI preferred
