Walmart Senior Manager, Advanced Analytics - Last Mile Forecasting in Bentonville, Arkansas

Position Summary...

What you'll do...

The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for the development of forecast/data models, which will facilitate last-mile package forecasts. This will involve utilizing the latest time series forecasting trends to devise solutions for complex business issues. The role entails designing, developing, and deploying forecasting frameworks to facilitate complex decision-making. The individual will also be responsible for developing and implementing forecast data models for weekly and peak Last Mile forecasts, in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

About the Team:

The Forecasting & Volume Allocation team is a dedicated group passionate about resolving intricate and high-impact challenges that shape Walmart's transportation network, from FC/DC to customers. We utilize state-of-the-art algorithms in operations research and machine learning to address challenging issues, enhancing customer experience whilst boosting network efficiency.

How will you contribute to the success of the team?

  • Model Development & Forecasting: Lead the design, development, and deployment of intricate forecasting models to guide complex decision-making processes. Work closely with cross-functional teams to synchronize inputs and model solutions

  • Data Engineering: Handle robust data engineering tasks including the construction of data pipelines, integration of diverse data sources, establishment of data infrastructure, and assurance of data quality

  • Prototype Development: Oversee the creation and implementation of prototypes and complex algorithms, managing the testing and validation processes

  • Advanced Analytics & Insights: Spearhead comprehensive data analysis, distilling complex results into digestible insights for non-technical stakeholders and senior leaders. Guide the implementation of sophisticated analytics to address business and technical challenges, formulating strategic recommendations grounded in the derived results

  • Code Review & Engineering Excellence: Conduct thorough code reviews to maintain high standards of engineering excellence

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Actively engage with diverse teams to gain a deep understanding of business objectives, ensuring alignment with overarching business strategies and priorities. Foster a culture of collaboration across functions for intricate projects, and cultivate partnerships with external business associates

  • Business Partnership: Collaborate with senior leadership to comprehend business objectives, pinpoint key challenges, and craft strategic solutions to answer critical customer-centric queries

  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and coach a team to achieve business objectives, creating a stimulating, engaging, and continuous learning environment

  • Project & Risk Management: Oversee the full execution of complex projects, manage associated risks, and ensure successful implementation.

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, or related field and 4 years' experience in data analytics or related field OR 6 years'

experience in data analytics or related field.
