What you'll do...

Walmart Global Tech is the technical powerhouse behind Walmart Global eCommerce. We employ big data at scale from machine learning, data mining and optimization algorithms, to modeling and analyzing massive flows of data from online, social, mobile and offline commerce. We don't just engineer cool websites, mobile apps, and new services; we use our own open-source tools to create the framework. Deployment is automated and accelerated through our open cloud platform. This makes us incredibly nimble and able to adjust in real-time to our global customers

What you'll do:

EDF is the Walmart's omni replenishment platform that allows our customers to shop the items in stores or online by anticipating the customers' needs ahead of time, by placing the items closer to the customers' location and by bringing in the right quantities into the stores or DCs to avoid going out of stock and all in all reduce the transportation costs. As part of this transformation, we're seeking entrepreneurial individuals to help drive productization from concept to deployment

• Work with small teams of talented engineers to build a best-in-class solutions

• Participate in the discovery phase to come up with high level design

• Collaborate with team members to influence the architecture and design of software and help bring quality into the design of the product

• Be given the freedom to try new things, prove the value of your own ideas and innovations, and own them all the way to production

• Create and maintain test suites for functional, regression, acceptance and UAT testing

• Responsible for functional, integration, data integrity and regression in order to ensure quality of code before releasing to production

• Participate in internal hackathons and innovation challenges!

• Stay updated on the latest technologies both in the company and industry and be able to utilize them to good effect

• Power Walmart inventory system, handling billions of events daily.

• Unify inventory management responsibilities currently spread across multiple systems and teams.

• Debug production issues with other teams across services and multiple levels of the stack.

What you'll bring:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• 4+ years of Hands-on experience in Java, Spring boot and Microservice

• Software development experience with proficiency in HTML, CSS, Java Script, TypeScript, React

• Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database technologies (Mongo/Cosmos)

• Experience in software development for building distributed systems with Spark, Big Data technologies, Kafka (or other messaging services), cloud platforms(GCP, Azure or AWS) and caching solutions like Memcache or Redis.

• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, data structures, and algorithms, including experience with TDD and writing robust Unit Test cases and exposure to CI/CD tools, including Git, Maven, Jenkins, Azure, and aware of Agile (Scrum) methodologies

Preferred Qualifications:

• Programming Languages: Proficient in object-oriented programming with Python and Java.

• Design Patterns: Expertise in creating scalable and production-ready services using industry-standard design patterns.

• Database Management: Adept at building and maintaining database schemas for both SQL (MySQL, Postgres) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra) databases, such as Big Query

• CI/CD Pipelines: Experience in building automated delivery pipelines with Jenkins.

• Cloud Platforms: Solid experience with Google Cloud Platform, including using Airflow, and familiarity with Scala and Spark.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00
