Walmart (USA) Manager, Operations Improvement - Safety in Bentonville, Arkansas

What you'll do...

About the Team

As a part of the Walmart F acility Services organization, you will contribute to the growth of our Facilities Services Safety team. In this role, you will focus on safety strategy and program development for our associates who maintain our facilities through maintenance activities.

In this role, you will report to our Senior Manager, Operations Improvement - Safety. This position is based in Bentonville, Arkansas, and anticipated travel will be 20%. This is an individual contributor role with growth and development opportunities available.

What you will do:

  • Lead essential planned safety strategy and goals by collaborating with field managers, home office teams, safety committees, and field technicians to identify potential safety issues and build sustainable solutions

  • Build upon our strong safety culture by participating in safety program development, safety training development, implementation, and facilitation; this would include assisting the field with any safety issues or concerns as well as supporting and initiating change management to adopt new safety programs

  • Identify and develop data centric products and/or applications for reducing risk exposure, injuries, and incidents

  • Participate in Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and accountability reviews

  • Create safety awareness and communication through comprehensive reviews or development of data; this also includes tracking field training and reporting of completion

  • Support strategy development and tactics to prevent injuries - including, but not limited to developing controls and management oversite; creating job aids; and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) analysis, selection, and sourcing

  • Conduct audits by traveling to your assigned areas to set standards with technicians and managers

We are looking for someone with...

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) or a related area and 2+ years of experience in EHS; 4+ years of experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree

  • Certified safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) certification.

  • Large program management experience

  • Persuasive communication and presentation skills with the ability to manage up and down the organization with experience in reporting and teaching

  • Experience in data analytics and data model construction

  • Experience working with large and diverse maintenance teams

  • Are a Subject Matter Expert in process improvement (specifically in optimizing safety performance) and have developed a safety program within a large workforce

  • Possess advanced knowledge of state and federal EHS regulations, standards, and guidance

  • Have the ability to construct a scalable solution from a concept or premise

The annual salary range for this position is $80,000.00-$155,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
